The cyanotype print is an early photographic process. Chemicals are mixed and then painted or spread onto a suitable surface. This coating is light sensitive and will record exposure to ultra violet light as a blue tint. Protected parts stay the base colour of the background material. After exposure is complete the chemicals are simply washed off to reveal the image. The exposure times are variable depending on the strength of ultra violet, the chemicals used and the photo medium. My re-introduction to this process has been facilitated by a great friend, the fine art and visual artist Denise Poote to whom I am grateful.

This is an ongoing project.
